In the fight against the epidemic, we stand united in our battle, working together to safeguard Shanghai—our shared home—and the design professionals at Shangfang are stepping up. Perseverance is victory; only by persevering can we achieve victory. The current wave of the epidemic in Shanghai has surged with alarming intensity, disrupting the rhythm of daily life. The epidemic is an order, and prevention and control are our responsibility. To support community-level epidemic prevention and control efforts, Shanghai Housing Architectural Design Institute Co., Ltd. donated RMB 50,000 to Changfeng Subdistrict in Putuo District on March 30. On March 28, the company’s Party Committee promptly responded to the requirements of the Municipal Party Committee Organization Department by launching the “Dual Registration” initiative for Party members during the epidemic response. To date, all Party members have registered with their respective subdistrict neighborhood committees and completed online registration via the “Pioneer Shanghai” mini-program, thereby joining the frontline防疫 efforts under the unified command of neighborhood committees and village/neighborhood Party organizations, fully leveraging the Party organization’s role as a fighting fortress and the exemplary leading role of Party members.

Shen Zuhong, Chairman and General Manager of the company, has repeatedly volunteered with the community residents’ committee, fully demonstrating his leadership role. As the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, he stated: “The epidemic is merciless, but humanity is full of love. With faith in our hearts and strength beneath our feet, we must actively participate in volunteer activities, exemplify the vanguard role of Party members, bravely shoulder responsibilities, and take proactive action. This is the duty of every Party member, and we must all contribute our modest efforts to securing victory in the battle against the epidemic.”
Under the leading example set by company leaders, Party members and employees alike have actively participated in volunteer service activities in their respective residential communities, assisting with tasks such as tallying and coordinating nucleic acid testing personnel, managing queueing and call-out procedures for testing, helping elderly residents in wheelchairs undergo testing, delivering and distributing food to the elderly and infirm, collecting and delivering parcels, conducting neighborhood patrols, and more.

Every volunteer has expressed that, although the contribution of any single individual may seem small, when we all offer a little bit of love, even tiny grains of sand can build a towering mountain. We firmly believe that, in the face of the pandemic, as long as everyone works together in unity and overcomes these difficult times, we can jointly defeat the virus and do our utmost to safeguard our communities.
Despite the current lockdown keeping all company employees at home, no one has been intimidated by this wave of the epidemic. “Working from home” has become a buzzword among staff, who have upgraded their home computers and related software to ensure they can work at full capacity. They are diligently completing drawings, reports, and statistical tables on schedule. Meanwhile, the HR and finance departments are ensuring that employees’ salaries are paid on time, so as not to affect their income. Everyone shares a single wish: during the pandemic response, the company’s operations must continue uninterrupted, achieving a seamless balance between epidemic control and business performance.
Whether participating in volunteer activities or working from home, the designers at Shangfang Design have consistently prioritized epidemic prevention and control as their top priority, steadfastly serving as the city’s “guardians.” With unified effort and unwavering confidence across the entire company, every employee is doing their part to help secure victory in the battle against the pandemic.
