1. Safety inspection and assessment of existing building structures

Background: When existing, occupied buildings exhibit safety hazards and warning signs—such as cracks, tilting or deformation, or aging—that may compromise structural integrity; when changes to the building’s function or local structural configuration could affect its structural safety; when a building continues to be used beyond its designed service life; or when there are doubts or disputes regarding its structural safety.

Job Responsibilities: Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the building’s structural condition, perform structural safety analysis and verification, and assess the overall structural safety of the building.

Function: The basis for the renovation and expansion of buildings and their subsequent use and disposal; the basis for resolving disputes over building safety; and the essential basis for the competent authorities’ management of dangerous buildings.

Relevant Regulations: Regulations on the Quality Management of Construction Projects (State Council Order No. 279 of 2000, as amended for the second time pursuant to the Decision of the State Council on Amending Certain Administrative Regulations dated April 23, 2019), and Regulations on the Administration of Dangerous Urban Buildings (Ministry of Construction Order No. 4 of 2004)
