“Stay True to Our Original Aspiration: Recalling the Moment We Joined the Party” — A Visit to the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China

Shanghai has already entered the depths of winter in December, yet public enthusiasm for paying homage to the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China remains undiminished, with long lines still forming outside the site as visitors and local residents wait to enter.
The First Party Branch under the Party Committee of Shanghai Municipal Institute of Architectural Design Co., Ltd. organized all party members and prospective party members to carry out a themed party-building activity entitled “Stay True to Our Original Aspiration: Recalling the Moment We Joined the Party.” The branch arranged a visit to the Memorial Hall of the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China and conducted a reenactment of the party membership oath-taking ceremony.
The memorial hall displays numerous precious relics of revolutionary history, vividly illustrating the revolutionary activities undertaken by the early leaders of the Communist Party of China and the Party’s founding process. It was here that the National Communist Group convened the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China. In what was then the darkest period of modern Chinese history, the early communists, through arduous struggle, ultimately overthrew the three great mountains of imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucratic capitalism, and established New China—an achievement of unparalleled greatness.
The Red Memorial Hall is a grand classroom for life; witnessing the earth-shattering transformations of history cannot fail to stir our souls and elevate our thinking. Through this visit, we reaffirmed our Party oath, further enriching the spiritual and cultural lives of all Party members, broadening our horizons, and enabling us to truly appreciate the heroic spirit of our revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives and shed their blood—experiencing a profound cleansing of the heart. At the same time, we have come to deeply recognize how hard-won our present way of life is. We must continue to carry forward the glorious traditions of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries: be pragmatic and seek truth from facts, stay grounded and down-to-earth, perform our duties conscientiously, and strive with all our might to realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!
